100 Days of Ronda: Top 5 people I should ship Ronda with

A year ago, my friend Kurto made this Tumblr he dedicated to soccer player Hope Solo. In it, he expressed his love for the goalie in many ways. In support of him, I started a series called “100 Days of Ronda” in which I would profess my love for the amazing, beautiful Ronda Rousey. This was one of my favorite posts.

Since getting a tumblr account, one thing I have noticed is how people will ship two characters together (ship, meaning put them in a relationship) like Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, Dean Winchester and Castiel, Sherlock and John Watson and Red Robin and Superboy.

Keep in the spirit of Tumblr, here are the five people I would ship with the amazing and beautiful Ronda Rousey. This is meant to be fun and cheeky and not meant to be taken too serious.

1. Chael Sonnen

Like Ronda, Uncle Chael has been a mouthful piece and can talk trash with the best of politicians. If they were to get together, they would be MMA’s power couple, more powerful than the Santos.’ They are not only great fighters, they are also making the rounds in the media.

2. Jake Shields

Shields is a single dad, which means he knows about responsibility. Both fighters are champions in Strikeforce and training partners with Nick Diaz. Rousey is a former vegan, which could go well with Shields’ vegan life style.

3. Gina Carano

All fantasies aside, Gina and Ronda would have the MMA world talking. Gina could help Ronda prepare for her fights while Ronda would help keep Gina in the MMA spotlight. They have a mutual respect for each other and could even take on the Cyborgs’ in a tag team match.

4. Dean Winchester

Ronda is a badass MMA figher while Dean is a badass monster hunter. They are both blunt, honest and care for their families. Ronda and Dean, along with Dean’s brother Sam could go on adventures and fight demons. I don’t about anyone, but I think it would be awesome to see Ronda lock a demon in an armbar.

5. Al Stover (Me)

The combination of Iron Man and Batman, Al is a cutthroat journalist who has the voice of Ron Burgundy, the detection skills of Sherlock Holmes and the caring nature of Dr. Perry Cox…

All right, maybe take those qualities and scale them down halfway (except for the caring part). I will say that I love MMA, I am one hell of a writer and reporter, and I have a passion for life.

Other possible ships:

Nick Diaz

Nate Diaz

The Doctor (Doctor Who)

Doctor Cox

Neil Patrick Harris

Dr. Perry Cox

About Al Stover

I graduated from Eastern Washington University with a bachelor's degree in journalism. I currently work as a Staff Reporter for the Cheney Free Press. I have interviewed characters like cage fighters, drag queens and dungeon masters. I like Batman, coffee, MMA and beer.
