Weidman: Contender is a different kind of opponent for Silva

UFC Middleweight champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva (31-4) once again puts his title and legacy on the line as he faces No. 1 contender Chris Weidman (9-0) at UFC 162.

For months, fans and critics have considered Weidman the man who will finally knock the Spider off of the top of the 185-pound division. They believe his wrestling ability and submission skills will put to rest Silva’s championship reign. Yet, they also believed the same thing about Chael Sonnen (27-13-1), who Silva defeated back at UFC 148, almost one year before the match with Weidman.
