Just days before she is set to make her return to the Invicta FC cage, Brazilian featherweight Ediane “India” Gomes (10-2) finds herself facing a different opponent.
According to sources, Canadian fighter Charmaine Tweet (4-3), who was scheduled to face Gomes at the Invicta FC 6 event on July 13, had to pull out of the fight due to visa issues. Newcomer Tamikka “Boom Boom” Brents (2-0) will step in to face Gomes on the Invicta FC 6 main card.
Brents is coming off a decision win against Amanda Bell (0-2) at Invicta FC 4 back in January. She also had an impressive run as an amateur, winning eight of her 10 fights.
Although Gomes may have more experience, she should not underestimate Boom Boom, especially in the striking department. If she wants a quick finish, the Brazlian will want to go for the takedown and get Brents in a quick submission.
How do you think Brents will do against Gomes? Answer with a comment below or send a tweet to @alstover.
