It’s a great day to be an Eagle

It’s been a busy week in Eastern Washington athletics.

  • EWU football won its third consecutive Big Sky Conference championship and received a first-round bye in the FCS playoffs.
  • EWU basketball is 5-1, coming off two impressive victories – one of which was over the University of Indiana.
  • On the women’s side, Hayley Hodgins made 700 career points on Monday night. I had a chance to interview her during her freshman year.
  • EWU alum Bo Levi Mitchell is leading the Calgary Stampeders to the Gray Cup.
  • This is a little more personal, but my friend Doug Ault is wrestling down in Southern California as “Dirty” Doug Osborn.

I don’t have a lot of regrets, but I wish I had gotten to write more sports during my senior year at EWU.
