Three juniors began the year on a high note after winning two gold and one silver from the World Kickboxing Association English Championships in North Solihull.

According to a report at BurnleyExpress.net, Ewan Harlety won the gold in the -40 kg tournament. He controlled the first two rounds and had trouble in the third. In the end he had the judges’ scorecard.

Jameel Saddique also took the top spot in the weight class, defeating his opponent with good ring movement, control and counter attacks.

Ewan’s sister Riona also made it to the finals in her weight division. Despite facing a taller opponent with more experience, she only lost by points.

Coach Allen Clarkin said he was proud of his students for competing at a high level.
