Some Smaug Stout during UFC 182

Last night during UFC 182 I tried Smaug Stout, an American imperial stout from the Fish Tales Brewery’s Hobbit line of beers..

It pours black and appears opaque in the class. It’s got an aroma of malt, cocoa and coffee, along with some spiciness to it. It has a smoky flavor to it but well-balanced. The smokiness comes as no surprise given it’s named after a dragon.

It went well with the UFC bouts and left me a little tipsy after the first fight.
