Philly Pikachus lose opening week to Samuel’s Team


The Philly Pikachus baseball team got their season off to a rough start after a 6-3 loss against Samuel’s Team – not to be confused with Samuel Oak.

Samuel’s Team outplayed the Pikachus in almost every stat. Still, the yellow rodents from Philly had some high moments, scoring 37 runs, 39 RBIs and seven home runs.

Troy Tulowitzki had his share of success at the plate, scoring six runs and 4 RBIs. Bob Zorhirst had five runs, 4 RBIs and one home run. Kyle Seager had one run, 3 RBIs and one home run. Adam LaRoche had three runs, 3 RBIs and two zingers.

“Pi-pikachu, pika, pikachu, pika-pi,” general manager Pikachu said about LaRoche’s two home runs. “Pika, pika.”

On the mound, the Pikachus had 38 strikeouts. Yovani Gallardo led the way with 12 Ks while Scott Kazmir had 10.

The Pikachus are ninth in the Yahoo Public 92778 league. They play james’ team.

Pikachu knows his team will be hungry for that first win.

“Pika, pikachu,” Pikachu said. “Pikachu!”
