Piper’s Fight Theater – Rest in Peace Roddy

Yesterday professional wrestling lost one of the greats. Reports confirmed that WWE Hall of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper passed away. Piper is regarded as one of the greatest interviewers and bad guys of all time. If Dusty Rhodes could talk people into a building to watch him win, Piper could bring people into the building to hopefully see him get his ass kicked.

I didn’t really appreciate Piper until later in life when I learned about his humble beginnings, his fight to survive, how he broke into pro wrestling and why he was so protective of the business. In addition to being a great wrestler, he was an accomplished actor.

I searched Youtube and found some of Piper’s classic matches.

Rest in Peace Hot Rod. My thoughts and prayers to his family.
