Alman on Rockhold vs. Weidman

Chris Weidman takes on what could be the toughest test of his title reign when he faces Luke Rockhold.

Weidman defeat former UFC champions, but now he takes on a former Strikeforce titleholder. In the other corner, Rockhold is riding a four-fight winning streak that includes finishes over Lyoto Machida and Michael Bisping. Like every good title fight there’s some bad blood between the two.

Although most of the attention will be focused on the fight between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor, I think Weidman vs. Rockhold could be “Fight of the Night.” Both fighters are pretty well rounded and have fought some tough competition.

Weidman has gained a lot of momentum since he defeated Anderson Silva to win the middleweight title. Losing to Rockhold could easily take that away.

My thought is this fight will go the distance with Weidman coming out on top. He’s got a good ground game and dangerous hands, but Rockhold is tough and trains with some of the hardest hitters in MMA. This is going to be a fun bout.
